The company FRESH has the larger experience in Hindukush Mountain Range, and also significant experience in Himalayan, Karakorum and Pamir Mountain Ranges in Pakistan and Central Asia. The company also draws experience from West Africa though joint projects through NCCR (North-South). The company has on hand extensive experience and has produced various socio-ecological research reports and implemented quite a few result oriented projects in the field of natural resource management and socio-economic development with the chief purpose to generate socio-ecological harmony in the human development. The major themes the company incorporates in its orbit are the Environment, Biodiversity, Pastures and livestock, Forestry and Wildlife, Non-wood Forest Products, Climate Change, Protected Areas, Community Participation, and Community Enterprise Development.

The company also has exhibited skills of complementing projects' implementation for some important components of Health, Education, Disaster Risk Reduction and Tourism sectors. In Health sector, the water, sanitation and hygiene, sustainable production of medicinal herbs; in Education sector, the environmental and conservation awareness education in schools; in the Disaster Risk Reduction sector, the bio-engineering impacts mitigation; and in the Tourism sector, the nature trails interpretation and protected areas interpretation are the focused components for FRESH.

The company ventures in research to explore communities' strategies and their sustainability and suggest appropriate modifications for the utilization of water, soil, environmental, agricultural, livestock, forests, pastures and plants and wildlife resources. The company has vast practical acquaintance with the community participation, with their organization and capacity building, in the implementation of socio-economic development and conservation projects, in the mountain communities and ecosystems. Such organizations, formed and worked-with by FRESH, range from grass-roots level of Village Organizations, to clusters of villages as Valley Organizations in the mountains and supra cluster level organizations of many valleys together for the human and natural resource management at larger landscape level.

The research by the company extends its scope to meet the enhanced capacity requirements for implementation of the environment related International Conventions (MEAs). The research ventures of the company are intimately linked with national and international universities and institutions, including University of Peshawar, Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar, Karakuram International University Gilgit, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, University of Central Asia, Bishkek, University of Leeds, UK and University of Bern, Switzerland, etc. The FRESH also works with universities and encourage the students in conducting M.S, M.Phil and Ph.D research and produce standard research papers and dissertations. The company facilitates the students focus on concepts and approaches of problem oriented applied research to ponder in research questions facing the sustainable development of the communities and natural resources.

In fielding of variety of socio-economic development and research projects, the company has well established working relationship, and the support and / or sponsorship of the Government and National and International Non-government Organizations. In most projects, coordination and collaboration are closely established with the Government sector, for supplementation process of the Government's efforts in the socio-ecological development. These government's collaborating institutions with the Company include Ministry of Environment, Government of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environment Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture and Livestock Department.

Collaboration and coordination of the Company, n he socio-economic development of the mountain communities' projects, is well field typified with national and international donors/NGOs. Some to mention, the NGOs include International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN-P), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-P), ICIMOD, JICA, UNDP, British Council, European Commission and SDC etc. Some local NGOs include HUJRA, Environmental Protection Society, SUNGI Development Foundation and Sustainable Development Policy Institute.
